    What Was Required Of the Volunteers?

    Though it was the opportunity of a lifetime, things weren't necessarily always easy for the volunteers. Their roles, duties and their employment at the Games involved:

    Spending up to seven weeks in China

    Flying out in July for three weeks of training before start of the Games on August 8

    Helping support the various national and international journalists working for the Olympic News Service (ONS)

    Collecting "flash quotes" from competitors and their coaches after each sporting event

    Providing articles and interviews for various organizations
