Aesop and Travekker
In ancient Greece there lived a clever man.his name was Aesop.
One day, a traveller stopped him and said, “Kind sir, can you tell me how soon I can get to town?”
“Go”Aesop answered.
“I know I must go.” said the traveller.
“But I want to know how soon I can get to town.”
“Go”Aesop shouted.
The traveller was very angry.“This man must be mad,”he thought, and he walked away.Suddenly he heard Aesop shouting to him,“You will get to town in two hours.”
The traveller was greatly surprised. He turned back and asked. “why didn’t you tell me that before?”
“How could I?”answered Aesop.“I didn’t know how fast you could walk.”
译文:伊索和一个旅行者
早在古希腊时代，有一个人非常聪明，他的名字叫伊索。
一天，一个旅行者拦住他问道:“先生，您能告诉我需要多长时间到城里吗?”
“走”伊索回答道。
旅行者说:“我知道，我是要走的，但我要知道需多长时间能到城里?”!
“走!”伊索继续说道。
旅行者对他非常气愤，他想，“这个人一定是疯了”。然后他走开了。
突然他听见伊索对他喊道:“两个小时你就会到城里。”
旅行者十分惊讶，他回过头问道:“为什么刚才你不告诉我?”
伊索回答说:“我不知道你走路的速度，我怎么能告诉你呢?”
