[摘 要] 美育是指通过各种课程、学科教学的方式和影响，培养学生的审美知识和审美能力，促进新时代大学生审美水平的提升和全面发展。公共艺术选修课作为高校素质教育的重要组成部分，是实现美育的基本手段和重要途径。地方医学院校开设公共艺术选修课对提高学生艺术素养和审美能力、陶冶学生艺术情操和全面推进素质教育具有重要作用。本文结合地方医学院校公共艺术选修课建设工作实际状况，分别在学生和教师群体开展问卷调查，探讨公共艺术选修课的现状和建设思路，以期加强地方医学院校艺术素质教育质量，提升学生美育素养，促进学生全面发展。
