HIMF为一种新发现的分泌蛋白，很可能是一种信号分子，然而，其究竟传递哪些生理及其病理信号，目前仍知之甚少，其在血液中分泌的浓度如何，分泌后是否能影响平滑肌细胞增殖，迁移，有待进一步阐明。
