syndrome and heart & kidney yin deficiency syndrome (P<0.01). Conclusion Metabolic syndrome is often concomitant with northwest dryness syndrome in Kashgar prefecture， Xinjiang. Moreover， the severity of clinical symptoms of metabolic syndrome was associated with the state of northwest dryness syndrome， which provides clinical epidemiology basis for developing prevention and cure strategy of metabolic syndrome in Xinjiang from the perspective of “treating the different diseases with the same therapy”.
