【摘要】目的：对于急性咳嗽，中医治疗善于辨证施治，标本兼治，具有疗效明显、不良反应少等优势，优于单纯西医治疗。在如今情况下，现代医家更是不断与古代医家的治疗思路和方法融合，找出更多更好的治疗方式与方法，用于治疗急性咳嗽。方法：通过研究古今各医家对急性咳嗽的内治法与外治法来获取更加有效的治疗方式和方法。结果：这些内治法与外治法，无论是单独使用还是联合使用均对治疗急性咳嗽有着较好的临床疗效。结论：内治法与外治法都能治疗急性咳嗽，也能够更好地改善患者的预后。
