    【摘要】半夏作为药物使用久矣，最早记录半夏药物功用的经典是《神农本草经》，但在《本草纲目》中所载《礼记·月令》篇“五月半夏生，盖当夏之半也，故名”的理解出现了偏差。后世很多医家以此理解为五月半夏始生苗；然在《吴氏本草经》和《本草图经》中分别记载了半夏二月始生叶、始生苗。就此不同的观点，笔者经查阅文献，走访查看半夏的种植、采收情况后，提出“五月半夏生，盖当夏之半”当理解为“农历五月半夏从其叶柄生出珠芽，继而倒苗落地生新”的观点，以期理事双畅，更好地服务于临床。
