【摘 要】 垂花香薷是云南特有的地方药和苗族习用药，对治疗流行性感冒引起的肺炎的疗效已得到初步证实，但其抗流感的中医内涵尚未见论述。通过追溯垂花香薷的民族药物背景、现代药理研究，考察其植物形态特点、性味、归经、功效等，发现垂花香薷味辛苦，性凉，入肺经，具有特殊香气，主要以枝、叶、花入药，是少有的兼具“辛味”的清热解毒药，单味药切合“治上焦如羽”内涵中“以轻去实”的治疫中医纲领，且兼解毒之功，可截邪深入。总的来说，垂花香薷治疗瘟疫具有特殊中医内涵，分析其中医治疫思路，可为防治流感新药开发研究和临床治疗提供参考。
