    【Abstract】Lipid metabolism isakeyphysiological process in the human body，anditsdisruption is closelyomected with thensetandevelopmentofepression.Nevertheless，asystematiccolltionofteseassiationsiscurrentlideate. Thisarticlecomprehensivelyexploredthechangesinlipidmetabolisminpatientswithdepresionandelaboratesondisordersin whichdisordersoflipidmetabolismwereco-morbidlyassociatedwithdepresion，suchasoverweight，obesityndmetabolic syndrome.Inaddition，thearticlesummarisedfiveintrinsic mechanisms bywhichabnormalities in lipid metabolism were asociated with the development of depression：overexpression of SNCA genes and abnormal accumulation of α -Syn，iron death，dysbiosisof gutmicrobiota，impairmentoftochondrialqualitycontrolsystems，andchroicstress.Finally，thisarticle suggestedfutureresearchdirectionsaimedatprovidinganewperspectiveandresearchbasisfortheearlydiagnosisandtreatment of depression.
