开门揖盗

【出处】晋·陈寿《三国志·吴志·吴主传》：张昭对十八岁刚刚死了哥哥的孙权说“况今奸宄竞逐，豺狼满道，乃欲哀亲戚，顾礼制，是犹开门而揖盗，未可以为仁也。”
【Interpretation】Open the door to welcome burglars， which means an invitation to evil men or disasters.
【释意】开门请强盗进来，比喻引进坏人，招致祸患。
During the last few years of the East Han Dynasty (25-220)， warlords countrywide fought with each other and China was in chaos. At the time， Sun Ce (175-200) occupied six provinces in the east of the Yangtze River. Taking advantage of the Yangtze River as a natural barrier， Sun Ce gradually became strong and got his troops well prepared for battles. He was ready to cross the Yangtze River to fight against Cao Cao (155-220).
东汉末年，群雄混战天下大乱。当时孙策占据了江东六郡，凭借长江天险，厉兵秣马，逐渐强盛，准备渡江北上，与曹操争雄。
Xu Gong， the governor of Wujun， was worried about Sun Ce’s growing power and thought him as a threat to the Han Dynasty. He was planning to report his concerns to the emperor， but before he did it， he got caught and killed by Sun Ce. Later， one of Xu Gong’s subordinates assassinated Sun Ce out of revenge. Sun Ce was seriously wounded and died soon.
吴郡太守许贡见孙策势力强大，担心他威胁到汉朝统治，于是密报汉献帝，不想东窗事发，被孙策杀死。许贡手下为报复行刺孙策，孙策伤重不治身亡。
Sun Quan (182-252) burst into cries when he heard about his brother’s death. He called in Zhang Zhao (156-236) to arrange his brother’s funeral. However， Zhang Zhao strongly advised， “If you only think about the funeral now and ignore the state affairs， you are actually opening the door to invite burglars!”
孙权听说哥哥过世，嚎啕大哭，并召来张昭，准备安排丧事，而张昭则力劝孙权说，“现在只因为悲哀而不顾国事，无疑于打开家门等着强盗进来啊!”
Sun Quan thought very carefully and took Zhang Zhao’s advice. He suppressed his grief and put the interests of the whole state above anything else. He went directly for an inspection of the troops. Soon the situation of his territory got stabilized.
孙权听了张昭的话后，思虑再三，觉得言之有理，于是强忍悲痛，以大局为重，立即披上戎装去军中巡查，江南局势不久后又稳定下来。, 百拇医药
