    [Abstract] Objective： To analyze the clinical effect of nasal continuous positive airway pressure (NCPAP) in the treatment of children with severe pneumonia complicated with respiratory failure and its influence on blood gas analysis indexes. Method： The clinical data of 82 pediatric patients with severe pneumonia complicated with respiratory failure treated in our hospital from June 2010 to June 2019 were retrospectively analyzed， and they were divided into study group and control group according to the time of admission， 41 cases in each group. The study group was treated with NCPAP， and the control group was treated with oxygen therapy with a hood. The therapeutic effect was compared between two groups， and blood gas analysis (PaO2， PaCO2， oxygenation index， SaO2)， lung function indexes (FVC， FEV1， FEV1/FVC%)， vital signs (heart rate， respiratory rate) and serum inflammatory factors (CRP， IL-17) before and after treatment were compared between two groups.
