    [Abstract]Objective： To compare the efficacy and safety of laparoscopic modified surgery and traditional open surgery in the treatment of larger inguinal hernia with scrotal edema in children.Method：Aretrospective selection wasmadeof166children withlarge inguinal hernia withscrotal edema who wereadmited to Shangrao People's Hospital from January 2O20 to December 2O24.A total of 74 children who underwent open surgery from January 2O2O to June 2O22 were included inthe control group，and92children who underwent laparoscopic modified surgeryfrom July2O22 to December2O24 wereincluded inthe study group.The operationtime，hospital stay，levels of inflammatory factors and the incidence of postoperative complications between the two groups were compared.
